EAP Update
Tomorrow morning our business partner will be joining us and the top Charities from each class will be presenting to the group. From our class, we had a tie for the top charity between DIFD and Tyson's Wish. These 2 groups will join the lead charities from Miss Beardsley and Ms Arcuri's classes and then the group will vote for the charity we want to support with our EAP endeavours. Great job everyone! I really enjoyed watching all of your presentations and seeing how passionate you all were about your charities! :)

Updates/Reminders
Today WWW Quizzes (from yesterday) were sent home to be signed as well as Assessment folders (there's a strip of paper stapled inside the folder with a spot for a signature).
Also, I reminded the class today that student agendas should be at school each day in order to help with organization and planning as well as a communication tool between home and school. I believe that it is the student's job to bring his/her agenda to school each day so they should not be saying, "My mom/dad forgot to put it in my bag." If a student's agenda is being forgotten at home frequently, 5 minutes of recess time will be owed by that student.

Prodigy: What Is It?
Prodigy is a free, online, math-based, curriculum aligned, role playing game.
Featuring over 50,000 questions spanning Grades 1 - 8 in 4 different curricula, players will get to watch their very own wizard grow stronger, learn new spells and acquire new equipment while facing ever more powerful opponents, all by answering math questions!
What makes it even better is that it will adapt by itself to ensure that your student/child is receiving the right material at the right time.
The game is self-paced, so while you might have a classroom of students all working at different levels within the curriculum, they'll still get to experience the same rich and exciting world, while each one is working on the content that is right for them.
Our goal is to make every child absolutely love doing math! With Prodigy, you won't have to force them or bribe them, in fact, they'll ask you to let them!
Over the past few weeks we have started using Prodigy as a math resource during class and as homework. Last week, all students brought home a sheet with the instructions on how parents can sign up to see how their child is doing. This is a great way for you to be able to see your child's strengths and to check on what skills your child may be struggling with (so you can help them to improve). I strongly encourage each of you to sign up by following the instructions on the sheet and should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
