Proper Use of Fidgets in the Classroom

Over the past few weeks I have noticed many more students bringing things to school and saying that they are to be used as fidgets. I have explained to the class that I will support them and allow them to do what is best for them and their learning so that they can succeed. However, there is a difference between a fidget and a toy and when something is a distraction to others it doesn't work for the class. Here is a useful video that helps explain the correct use of fidgets in the classroom and some examples of what can be used as a fidget.

Math Homework Due Tomorrow

Today we began division without remainders. We started by watching the following video:


And then worked on answering the following questions:

Students then had a total of 36 questions to answer during class time and as homework (due tomorrow). Many students chose to "chew and do" during snack and to stay inside for part of the morning recess to continue to work so they could ask me questions as they worked.
